Dr. Richard Anatone, Professor of Music Theory at Prince George’s Community College

Richard Anatone currently serves as a music theory professor at Prince George’s Community College in Largo, MD, teaching classes in both the traditional and commercial music programs. He earned his doctoral and masters degrees in piano performance from Ball State University. His research interests reside in the leitmotif and semiotics in video game soundtracks. His edited collection of of essays dedicated to the music of Nobuo Uematsu in the Final Fantasy series was released in 2022, and can be purchased on Amazon (links are available on this site).

Though primarily rooted in music theory, he remains active as a pianist and composer. He has helped establish video game music concerts at Prince George’s Community College, the next of which will live-streamed for free on April 22, 2023. Links will be available soon!
